Introduction to Habitat’s New Partner Family

Orange County Habitat for Humanity is working on its twenty-fifth home. And Kerri Hedinger couldn’t be more excited. She has been a resident of Orange County since 1983 after moving here from West Virginia. She has three children: Tyler, age 19; Erin, age 18; and Devin, age 12. Stability and consistency are what having a home of your own means to this family. They have moved several times in the last 12 years and their most recent home is too small for them. Kerri is excited and thrilled to have the opportunity to provide a safe and secure home for her family. Her children are what is most important to her, and this opportunity is one she can’t wait to make the most of. Staying in one place and making it her own is extremely important to her. Kerri is like every other parent: she wants a place where her children can be safe, where they and their friends can come to. She is excited to have the security of owning a home and a sense of accomplishment because she helped to build it.
