Many Helped Make the 2004 Blitz-Build Homes a Reality

Many local businesses serving Orange County made substantial contributions to the houses making homes for the four families possible. The most recent contributors include;

  1. 84 Lumber of Culpeper - a $4,363 grant to purchase needed building materials. This should cover the cost of most of the trim!
  2. Sedwick Building Supply of Orange – An extra discount on purchases worth over $4,000 on the four houses.
  3. American Woodmark Foundation – Funds to furnish the cabinets for all four houses. The American Woodmark plant in Orange will deliver them to the site.
  4. Orange County Board of Supervisors – waived all County permit fees.
  5. David Light Plumber - $800 discount on his bill. Dave also volunteers as a skilled carpenter and electrician.
  6. The WoodWorks youth held their Sunday worship service in the OPC. The over $800 collection was an additional contribution to the work of Rapidan Habitat for Humanity.

This does not include the untold number of volunteers who work on the houses and do other things keeping Rapidan Habitat for Humanity a functioning organization. One volunteer, Jill Winegar who was raised in the area, came all the way from Oregon to work a week on the BlitzBuild.

In addition:
